Childhood obesity is a growing concern in Australia, with significant implications for the health and well-being of our younger generations. At Nutrition NSW, we are committed to promoting evidence-based nutritional practices and preventative health measures to combat this issue.
Recent data reveals that more than one quarter (26.4%) of Australian children aged 2 to 17 years are living with overweight or obesity. Specifically, 18.3% of children are overweight, while 8.1% are classified as obese. These statistics highlight the urgent need for targeted interventions to address this public health challenge.
